Ngā Mihi – Greetings – Pt 1

Learning how to separate te reo Māori words into syllables can really help you with your pronunciation. To do this, put a break after every vowel, or the first pair of multiple vowels. Then say the words slowly syllable by syllable and finally blend the syllables together while still preserving the original vowel sounds. Then your pronunciation will not only be correct but it will be sweet the Māori taringa (ear)!
